Every great passage begins with a single step into the unknown. The Highland Passage was conceived as a journey through Scotland’s most diverse whisky-producing landscapes — from the gentle orchards of Speyside, through the dramatic peaks of the Highlands, to the wild, peat-swept shores of Islay.
We spent fourteen months tasting through warehouses across Scotland to assemble this trio. The goal was not merely to collect three fine whiskies, but to create a narrative in liquid form — a tasting experience that unfolds, deepens, and resolves.
The result is a flight that rewards patience and attention. Begin with The Opening’s gentle invitation, let The Development build in complexity, and allow The Lasting to leave its indelible mark.
Three distilleries, three philosophies, one unforgettable journey. The Opening hails from a venerable Speyside house known for its elegant, fruit-forward spirit. The Development comes from a Highland estate where time-honoured floor malting yields a spirit of profound depth. And The Lasting draws from an Islay distillery where sea, peat, and sherry unite in fierce, unapologetic character.
Our selection process begins long before the first cask is tasted. We identify distilleries whose character aligns with the narrative we wish to create, then taste methodically through their warehouses until each element of the flight reveals itself.
Once selected, each whisky is bottled at natural colour, without chill-filtration, at cask strength or a carefully considered reduction. The flight box itself is designed to guide the tasting experience, with each bottle positioned in the order we recommend: left to right, from opening to lasting.
